PERFUME

LUXURY

#31

Perfume comes from the Latin word "perfumum" meaning fragrant smoke.

About 5,000 years ago, the Egyptians burned fragrant herbs for Ra, the sun god, from sunrise to sunset. Perfume, which is indispensable for various rites and traditions, still has a high importance in our lives. The fact that the olfactory receptors are located right next to the memory storage of our brain allows us to re-live the memories we have experienced, with a scent that belongs to that memory.

In the 20th century, perfumes became works of art with their magnificent bottles. Perfumes began to be used not to suppress body odors, but to highlight personalities and became an indispensable part of contemporary life.
